The Coyotes fell 7-1 to begin the afternoon, but secured a 5-4 victory in walk-off fashion to end the home portion of the season in style and snap a five-game losing skid.

Yotes Celebrate Walk-Off in Final Home Game
In game one on Thursday, Bevill State grabbed a 7-1 victory thanks in part to a five-run fifth inning the Bears put together. The first three innings went scoreless to begin play, but the Bevill State bats came alive across the middle frames. Coastal North's lone run of the game came in the bottom half of the fifth following a Lydia Brewer RBI double. The Coyotes left six runners on base across the final three innings of game one, including the bases loaded in the seventh.
Brewer finished 1-for-3 at the plate as Coastal North tallied five hits in the defeat. Jordan Avera led the team with two hits for Coastal North, while Alissa Holmes managed a 1-for-2 line with a walk and a run scored. From the pitcher's circle, Madison Favre started the game and finished with 4 1/3 innings of work, allowing 10 hits and six runs. Four of the six runs were earned runs charged to Favre. Lydia Brewer then closed out the game from the rubber, allowing one unearned run off four hits.Â
In game two, Bevill State once again grabbed the lead first, scoring one run across both the third and fourth innings. However, the Coyotes responded with a two-run fifth inning to tie the game, 2-2. Both runs in the fifth came with two outs on the scoreboard. One inning later, the Coyotes once again produced a two-run inning, taking their first lead of the afternoon. Needing just three outs to secure a 4-2 win, Bevill State rallied in the seventh and tied the game with a two-run frame of its own.Â
With the game tied 4-4 and entering the bottom of the seventh, Jakayla Williams reached second base following a one-out error by the Bevill State defense. Alissa Holmes then worked the count full and slapped a single to center field to score Williams and win the game for the Coyotes.Â
Both Williams and Holmes, along with Delana Peters, finished with two hits in the walk-off win as Coastal North out-hit the Bears, 11-8. Madison Freeman tallied a 1-for-2 line with an RBI and a walk and Mary Grace Whatley recorded an RBI double in the victory to get the scoring started for the Coyotes. Eight of the nine players in the Coastal North lineup managed to record at least one hit. Meanwhile, Reanna Johnson tossed a complete game, allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned). Johnson recorded several defensive assists from the circle throughout the winning performance, picking up one strikeout in the process.Â
Prior to Thursday's doubleheader, three graduating sophomores (Isabella Griggs, Reanna Johnson, and Mary Grace Whatley) were honored for Sophomore Day, playing their final home games at Coastal Alabama in Monroeville.Â
