BREWTON, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball battled Pensacola Christian College (Fla.) in a five-set non-divisional matchup Monday night, Sept. 21, with the Coyotes ultimately falling in a thrilling 3-2 decision.

Coastal - North dropped the opening set, 25-21, before responding with consecutive victories in the second and third sets, 25-19 and 25-21. Pensacola Christian answered with a 25-22 fourth-set win to force a decisive fifth set, where the Eagles edged the Coyotes, 15-13 to clinch the match victory.

The match marked Coastal Alabama - North's sixth five-set contest of the 2026 season. The Coyotes are now 2-4 in five-set matches and move to 5-10 overall on the season.

Freshman Avrie Hines led the Coastal - North attack with 14 kills on 36 attempts, hitting .278, while adding four service aces, six digs and five total blocks.

Sophomore Faith Reid followed with 11 kills and three service aces, while fellow sophomore Ali Simon recorded six kills and a team-high seven total blocks. Daelyn Bozeman added seven kills on 18 attempts, hitting .222.

Libby Williams orchestrated the Coyotes' offense with 39 assists while contributing four kills, two service aces and eight digs. Shaylee Frederick paced the Coyotes defensively with 13 digs, while Williams added eight and Kaylee Gilbreath recorded seven.

As a team, Coastal - North finished with 45 kills on 123 attacks for a .179 hitting percentage, along with 39 assists, 14 service aces, 49 digs and 23 total blocks.

On the Road for Non-Conference Action

The Coyotes return to action on the road this weekend with a matchup against Mississippi Gulf Coast on the horizon. This weekend's match is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 2:00 p.m. CT in Perkinston, Miss.
