Coastal Alabama Community College - North

BREWTON, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball picked up a 3-0 victory over Coastal Alabama - South on Wednesday, Sept. 16, winning the first of two regular-season meetings between the Coastal Alabama programs this season.

The match, played in Brewton, also served as the first matchup of the "Yotes Series," a new initiative highlighting head-to-head competition between Coastal Alabama Athletics programs across different sports throughout the academic year.

Coastal - North secured its fifth win of the season with the sweep last week, while Coastal - South fell to 4-8 on the year.

Coastal vs. Coastal

Coastal - North controlled the match from the opening serve, earning a 25-16 victory in the first set before taking the second set, 25-12. The North Coyotes closed out the sweep at home with a 25-19 third-set victory.

Coastal - North's offense finished the night with 33 kills on 93 attacks for a .204 hitting percentage. The home 'Yotes also produced 18 service aces and 16 total blocks while limiting Coastal - South to a .059 hitting percentage.

Faith Reid and Avrie Hines led Coastal - North offensively with eight kills apiece. Reid hit .250 and added four service aces and six digs, while Hines recorded a .235 hitting percentage, two aces, and eight digs.

Other contributors for the home squard included Arianna Wright, who contributed six kills while hitting .364, adding four total blocks. Ali Simon led the Coastal - North defense at the net with six total blocks, including three solo blocks and three block assists. Meanwhile, Libby Williams orchestrated the attack with 29 assists and added four aces. Shaylee Frederick led the Coyotes in Brewton with nine digs, while Coastal - South transfer McKenna Dunlavy recorded a team-high five service aces.

For the visitors, Coastal - South was led by Elizabeth McMillan, who recorded eight kills while hitting .467. Anna Musgrove tallied 13 assists and eight digs, and Kaylee Worrell finished with a team-high 10 digs in the defeat.

Coastal - South finished with 19 kills, 42 digs, three service aces and two total blocks.

Yotes Series Rolls On

The "Yotes Series" continues Oct. 12 when Coastal - North and Coastal - South Volleyball meet for the second time this season in Bay Minette, Ala.

The series will continue throughout the 2026-27 athletic year as Coastal Alabama's North and South programs compete against one another in select sports.
