Box Score SELMA, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Women's Volleyball put together one of its most complete performances of the young 2026 season Thursday night, Sept. 3, sweeping Wallace Community College - Selma (Ala.) 3-0 for the first ACCC victory of the year. In addition, the win snaps a three-game losing skid for the Coyotes as the overall record improves to 3-5 through eight matches, with the ACCC record advancing to 1-2.
Coyotes Dominate
The 'Yotes controlled the match from the opening serve, winning by set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-14 to secure the first conference victory of the season.
Coastal - North jumped on Wallace - Selma early, racing to a 25-12 victory in the opening set before continuing its momentum into the second and third frames. The Coyotes never allowed the host Patriots to reach 15 points in any set.
Offensively, freshman Arianna Wright led the Coyotes with eight kills on 16 attacks, while Avrie Hines delivered an efficient performance with five kills on nine attacks for a .444 hitting percentage.
Faith Reid added four kills on seven attacks, hitting a team-best .571, while Alana Jones, Mattie Johnson and Daelyn Bozeman each contributed three kills. Coastal - North finished with 29 kills as a team while hitting .239 for the match.
Libby Williams returned to the court after missing Wednesday's matchup in Brewton and directed the Coastal - North offense with a team-high nine assists, while Savannah Phillips added six assists. Phillips (4) and Williams (2) also contributed from the service line with the pair of setters combining for six aces against the Patriots. The Coyotes tallied 13 aces total in the win.
Defensively, Kaylee Gilbreath led the back row in digs with five, followed by Shaylee Frederick with four. Alana Jones and Avrie Hines both notched three digs in the sweep as the Coyotes finished the night with 23 digs total. Meanwhile at the net, Arianna Wright recorded three blocks to pace the front row.
The Coyotes' serving and defensive pressure kept Wallace - Selma from finding a rhythm, as Coastal - North closed out each set decisively.
The victory marks the Coyotes' first conference win of the season and gives the team momentum heading into next week when the 'Yotes return to the court.
Labor Day Weekend then Rival Match Ahead
Coastal - North Volleyball will take the long holiday weekend to rest up ahead of a big conference match next on the schedule, coming on Wednesday, Sept. 9 against rival Reid State Tech (Ala.). Wednesday's matchup with the Lions is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT in Evergreen, Ala.
