BREWTON, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball earned a crucial five-set victory over Bishop State Community College (Ala.) on Tuesday night, Oct. 20, at home in Brewton, Ala., winning 3-2 to gain the tiebreaker over the Wildcats in the race for third place in the ACCC South Division standings.
The Coyotes battled through five competitive sets to secure the victory, prevailing by scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25 and 15-9. The win avenged an earlier five-set loss to Bishop State on Sept. 14 in Mobile, Ala., and gave Coastal Alabama - North the upper hand in the season series.
With the 2026 ACCC Volleyball Championship Tournament scheduled for Oct. 30 in downtown Montgomery, Ala., Tuesday's result carries significant postseason implications. The Coyotes trailed 18-11 at one point in the second set, but managed a late push to even the match, 1-1. Bishop State answered in the fourth set, winning 25-20 to force a decisive fifth set. Coastal - North rose to the occasion, however, and closed out the Wildcats with a 15-9 win to secure the hard-fought conference victory on its home floor.

At the net, Simon's six total blocks and Arianna Wright's four total blocks helped the Coyotes challenge Bishop State's attack throughout the five-set battle.
