BREWTON, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball team continued its recent surge on Monday night, Oct. 5, earning its second consecutive sweep with a 3-0 victory over ACCC rival Reid State (Ala.) at home.

The Coyotes claimed the straight-set victory by scores of 28-26, 25-13 and 25-9, improving to 8-13 overall on the season and 4-3 in ACCC play. Coastal - North has now won three of its last four matches and currently sits fourth in the ACCC South Division standings.

Yotes Cruise Past Rival

Coastal - North overcame a back-and-forth opening set before taking control of the match. After Reid State pushed the Coyotes beyond the standard 25-point mark in the first set, Coastal closed out the 28-26 victory before dominating the final two sets.

Avrie Hines led the Coyotes offensively with 14 kills on 35 attacks, adding nine digs and two service aces. Faith Reid contributed eight kills on 17 attacks while adding four service aces, while Arianna Wright finished with seven kills on 14 attacks.

Ali Simon was highly efficient at the net, recording nine kills without an error on 12 attacks for a .750 hitting percentage. Simon also added a solo block.

Meanwhile, setter Libby Williams directed the Coastal offense with 26 assists, while Savannah Phillips added eight assists and three service aces.

The Coyotes also received strong contributions from the service line, recording 18 aces as a team. Shaylee Frederick paced the 'Yotes with four aces, while Reid and Phillips each added four and three, respectively.

Defensively, Hines led the Coyotes with nine digs, followed by Frederick with six and Kaylee Gilbreath with five. Daelyn Bozeman added four kills and a solo block.

Coastal Alabama - North will look to continue its momentum as the Coyotes return to action later this week on the road against Enterprise State (Ala.).
