Coyotes Grind Out Road Win at Enterprise State, Stay Atop ACCC Division II

Coastal Alabama - North Claims Sixth-Straight Victory, Improves to 10-1 in Conference Play

ENTERPRISE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball continued its strong conference run Monday night, Feb. 2, earning a hard-fought 64-57 road victory over Enterprise State (Ala.) to maintain sole possession of first place in the ACCC Division II standings. With the win, the Coyotes improve to 10-1 in conference play and extend their winning streak to six games. Additionally, the overall record advances to 16-8 on the season.

'Yotes Find a Way to Win

In a physical, back-and-forth contest, Coastal Alabama - North relied on balanced scoring and defensive pressure to secure the seven-point victory. The Coyotes shot 44.7% from the field (21-of-47), knocked down six three-pointers, and converted 16-of-25 from the free throw line. They also controlled the glass with 38 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards.

Coastal - North trailed 31-29 at halftime in Enterprise on Monday, but responded with a 35-26 second-half advantage to secure the victory.

Bryce Wilkins led the way with 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds, anchoring the interior on both ends. Meanwhile, Elijah Pippins added 10 points, six assists, three steals, and a block, providing steady leadership at the guard position. Rashad Mitchell finished with nine points, including two three-pointers, and Chimeziri Okeoma scored 10 points with two assists and a steal from off the bench.

The Coyotes received key production off the bench in the win, with JaMichael Murray matching a season high on the year with eight points on 3-of-5 shooting, and Al'Terrius Beasley scoring four points on a perfect 2-of-2 from the floor in limited action. 

Justin Burns impacted the game beyond the scoring column, totaling five rebounds, three assists, four steals, and a block to help fuel Coastal's defensive effort. As a team, the Coyotes forced pressure throughout the night, tallying 12 steals and three blocks.

Despite committing 19 turnovers, Coastal Alabama - North made timely plays down the stretch to hold off the Boll Weevils and secure the road win. The victory keeps the Coyotes firmly in first place in the ACCC Division II standings as they continue their push toward postseason play. Coastal - North will look to extend its winning streak in its next conference matchup at home later this week.

Homecoming at the Coop

Coastal Alabama - North returns to the floor on Thursday night, Feb. 5 for Homecoming on the Coastal Alabama Monroeville campus, hosting Lurleen B. Wallace CC (Ala.) in the process. Thursday's Homecoming matchup is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted live on JockJive.com.
