MONROEVILLE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball program has officially released its 2026-27 schedule, with the Coyotes looking to continue their dominance in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division II and make another run at the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.
Under sixth-year head coach Chuck Taylor, the reigning back-to-back ACCC Division II Coach of the Year, Coastal Alabama - North enters the new campaign pursuing its third consecutive ACCC Division II regular season championship and a second-straight ACCC Division II Tournament title.
The Coyotes are coming off an outstanding 2025-26 season, finishing 25-11 overall and 15-1 in conference play. After capturing both the regular season and tournament championships, Coastal - North earned an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament in Danville, Ill., where the season came to an end in the second round.
With a championship foundation returning to the program, the Coyotes will look to build on last season's success while navigating a challenging schedule featuring familiar conference opponents and tough non-conference tests.
"I'm really excited about our upcoming schedule" Taylor said. "As always, our non-conference schedule is extremely challenging and designed to prepare us for conference play."
Championship Celebration Set for Nov. 3 Home Opener
The highlight of the early-season schedule will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, when Coastal Alabama - North welcomes Bishop State Community College (Ala.) to the Cooper Center in Monroeville for a 7:00 p.m. CT tipoff. The matchup will serve as a Championship Celebration, sponsored by the Coastal Alabama Foundation, recognizing the Coyotes' accomplishments from the 2025-26 season while ushering in an exciting new era for the Monroeville campus facility.
The evening will feature pregame recognition of the team's championship ring donors and members of the championship squad, celebrating the people and players who helped deliver another historic season for the program.
The celebration will also showcase major upgrades to the Cooper Center, including a brand-new video board, LED scoring tables and new flooring, enhancing the gameday experience for student-athletes, students, staff and fans.
Adding to the significance of the matchup, both programs will enter the contest as reigning ACCC champions. While Coastal Alabama - North captured the ACCC Division II regular season and tournament titles, Bishop State claimed the ACCC Division I tournament championship, setting the stage for a compelling early-season meeting between two of the conference's reigning champions.
Taylor highlighted the caliber of the opponents awaiting the Coyotes early in the season, including Bishop State and Davidson-Davie Community College (N.C.), both of which competed in the national tournament last season.
"This season, we'll face two teams that competed in the [NJCAA] National Tournament last season," Taylor said. "We'll also take on two powerhouse programs from the state of Florida and continue our annual series against our rivals, Coastal Alabama - South."
Coastal Alabama President Dr. Aaron Milner and Athletic Director Daniel Head are expected to attend the celebration on Nov. 3, joining the campus and community in recognizing the Coyotes' championship success and the continued investment in Coastal Alabama Athletics.
Fans will also have opportunities to connect with the broader Coastal Alabama Athletics community throughout the evening. The Howl & Co. Spirit trailer will be on site with official Coastal Alabama gear, while a food truck and representatives from other Coastal Alabama athletic programs and campuses will help create a campus-wide celebration of the Coyotes' success.

Coastal Alabama - North will officially open its 2026-27 season on Friday, Oct. 30, when the Coyotes travel to Boaz, Ala., for a pair of neutral-site contests. Coastal will face Davidson-Davie Community College on Friday before taking on Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Conference Play Takes Center Stage
As the season progresses, the Coyotes will turn their attention to the ACCC Division II schedule, with a mix of home and road matchups against conference opponents throughout December, January, and February.
December home games at the Cooper Center include Wallace - Selma (Ala.) on Dec. 1, Southern Union State (Ala.) on Dec. 8 and Enterprise State (Ala.) on Dec. 11. The Coyotes will also host ACCC Division I's Coastal Alabama - South on Dec. 14 in another sibling rivalry showdown that will not count toward conference play.
The calendar turns to 2027 with three consecutive home games in early January, beginning with South Georgia Technical College on Jan. 4 in non-conference action, followed by ACCC Division II matchups against Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) and Marion Military Institute (Ala.). Coastal - North will then travel to face conference foe Snead State (Ala.) on Jan. 13.
The Coyotes will look to maintain their momentum through a pivotal conference schedule featuring both home and road matchups against familiar rivals across January and February.
The regular season concludes in late February, with the Coyotes set to host Snead State on Feb. 15 and Bevill State (Ala.) on Feb. 18 before turning their attention to the ACCC Division II Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, scheduled to begin Feb. 25 at Talladega College (Ala.) in Talladega, Ala.
Taylor expects the competitive conference slate to provide another significant test as the Coyotes pursue their championship goals. "The ACCC Conference will be as competitive as ever, and our schedule will definitely help prepare us for the challenges ahead," Taylor said.
With another championship-caliber season on the horizon, Coastal Alabama - North will aim to defend its conference titles and earn another opportunity to compete on the national stage.
"We're looking forward to another exciting season" Taylor said. "Let's get out, show our support, and cheer on your back-to-back ACCC Champions. The road to three starts now."
