Box Score THE COOPER CENTER | MONROEVILLE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball team, led by head coach Chuck Taylor, closed out its home schedule in dominant fashion on Thursday, Feb. 19 with a 95-58 victory over Marion Military Institute (Ala.) in ACCC Division II action. With the win, the Coyotes improved to 21-8 overall and 14-1 in conference play while extending their winning streak to 11 games.
Before tip-off, the program honored its sophomore class during Sophomore Night, recognizing eight men's basketball sophomores along with five members of the cheerleading squad for their contributions to their programs. Coastal Alabama - North also celebrated its ACCC Division II Regular Season Championship and No. 1 seed following the game, cutting down the nets in front of the large home crowd.
Game Highlights
The Coyotes' defense played a major role in the victory during the home finale, holding Marion Military to just 58 points, well below the Tigers' season average of 84.1 points per game. In the process, Coastal - North shot 50.7% from the field and knocked down 12 three-pointers while controlling the glass with a commanding 67-rebound performance.
Balanced scoring led the way for the Coyotes. Chimeziri Okeoma paced Coastal with 17 points off the bench, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Isaiah Fuller and Evan Bignell each added season-highs on Thursday, tallying 14 points apiece, while Justin Burns recorded a dominant performance inside with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Additionally, Rashad Mitchell contributed 11 points in the win, while Bryce Wilkins recorded eight points and 14 boards against the Tigers. As a team, Coastal also moved the ball effectively, finishing with 24 assists, including seven each from the point guard duo of Eli Pippins and David Culbreath-Martin. Meanwhile, Monroeville, Ala. native Al'Terrius Beasley finished the game with four points and eight rebounds in his final appearance inside the Cooper Center during his career as a Coyote.
With the regular season title secured and momentum continuing to build, the Coyotes now turn their focus the regular season finale scheduled for this upcoming weekend.
Wrapping the Regular Season
The 'Yotes are set to conclude the 2025-26 regular season on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21, facing off with Bevill State (Ala.) in Jasper, Ala. Saturday's game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Following Saturday's action, postseason play begins as the ACCC Division II Men's Basketball Championship Tournament is set for Feb. 26-28 at Talladega College (Ala.) in Talladega, Ala. The Coyotes will earn a first-round BYE.
