Box Score THE COOPER CENTER | MONROEVILLE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Women's Basketball team turned in a dominant performance Friday evening, Dec. 12 at the Cooper Center, rolling past Enterprise State Community College (Ala.) 78-39 in a conference meeting in the ACCC. The Coyotes cruised across all four quarters, highlighted by a strong 26-point third quarter to put the game well out of reach.
After opening the 2025-26 season with a 3-7 record, Coastal - North has now won three of its last four games, improving the overall record to 6-8 on the year. Additionally, the Coyotes are currently 2-1 in the ACCC.
Coyotes on Cruise Control
Coastal Alabama - North set the tone early, opening the game with a 19-13 first quarter before tightening its defense and extending the lead to 38-21 by halftime. The Coyotes sealed the win coming out of the break and outscored the Boll Weevils 26-7 in the third quarter, taking a commanding 64-28 advantage heading into the final period. In the fourth quarter, the Yotes added 14 points to secure the 78-39 victory.
Reigning ACCC D-II Women's Basketball Player of the Week Ariel Gilchrist led the Coyotes with 14 points and five assists, providing steady production on both ends of the floor. Saije Taylor added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Lailah Hill chipped in 10 points on efficient shooting. Tamira Smalls finished with nine points and seven rebounds, and Akira Martin contributed eight points and three assists off the bench, highlighting the Coyotes' balanced scoring effort. Jamonica Miller led the squad with 10 rebounds in the win, adding six points.
Coastal - North controlled the glass throughout the night, totaling 47 rebounds, and forced the pace defensively with 15 steals. The Coyotes also dished out 17 assists, consistently finding open looks and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. The offense finished Friday night's action shooting 36% from the field.
With the win, the Coyotes continue to build momentum as they move forward in the schedule as a big non-conference road game awaits on Monday night.
Coastal Battles Coastal
Coastal - North continues non-conference play on Monday evening, Dec. 15, facing counterpart Coastal Alabama - South in the process at Jack Robertson Arena in Bay Minette, Ala. Monday's action is a scheduled doubleheader between the Coastal Alabama programs, with women's basketball kicking things off with a 5:30 p.m. CT tipoff, while men's basketball follows at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The sibling rivalry between Coastal - South and Coastal - North will be aired live on JockJive.com and is the final meeting of the season between the Coyotes.
