PHENIX CITY, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Women's Basketball team battled on the road against No. 21 Chattahoochee Valley Community College (Ala.) but ultimately came up short in ACCC action. The loss drops the overall record on the season to 10-15 for the 'Yotes, while falling to 5-6 in the ACCC.
Coastal - North struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm early as the nationally ranked Pirates applied pressure on both ends of the floor. The Coyotes fought to stay within reach throughout the contest but fell 73-61.
Saije Taylor led Coastal - North with 18 points and added four rebounds and three steals in a strong all-around performance. Meanwhile, Starr Pittman notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards in the defeat. Jamonica Miller came up with eight points from off the bench, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor.
As a team, the Coyotes finished with a sub-35% shooting performance from the field, making just two three-pointers and finishing 17-for-24 from the free throw line. The 'Yotes out-rebounded Chatt Valley 40-32, but turned the ball over 29 times in the 12-point loss.
Season Finale Ahead
The Coyotes have an important game ahead to wrap up the 2025-26 regular season as Coastal - North sits in the bubble of making the postseason. The 'Yotes are scheduled to meet Snead State (Ala.) on the road Feb. 16 to conclude the regular season, set for 5:00 p.m. CT in Boaz, Ala. Snead State currently ranks No. 22 in the NJCAA.
