Neeley, a standout both in the classroom and on the course from Eclectic, Ala., is among an elite group of 48 students statewide to receive the distinction. The All-Alabama Academic Team highlights individuals who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community service. Neeley becomes the first student-athlete at Coastal Alabama Community College to earn the honor as he was joined by Coastal Alabama Community College President Dr. Aaron Milner.
 

The ACCS celebrated this year's honorees during the 31st Annual All-Alabama Academic Team Recognition Program, held on Friday, Apr. 10 at the Embassy Suites Birmingham-Hoover (Ala.). Two students from each Alabama Community College were selected, with scholarship awards totaling $61,350 presented during the ceremony.

"The students recognized represent the very best of our system, exemplifying academic excellence and leadership," said ACCS Chancellor Jimmy Baker. "They embody the high standards that define the Alabama Community College System and continue to raise the bar for student success."

The All-Alabama Academic Team program is sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the American Association of Community Colleges. Honorees are selected based on their academic excellence, intellectual rigor, leadership, and dedication to serving their communities, as well as their commitment to extending learning beyond the classroom.

As part of the recognition, each student, including Neeley, receives a $1,000 scholarship from the Paths for Success Foundation, which can be applied toward continued education at any public or private college or university.

"So proud of Spence Neeley," said Coastal Alabama - North Head Golf Coach David Jennings. "It has been a joy having him be a part of our men's golf team for the last two years."

Neeley's selection adds to a strong year for Coastal Alabama - North Men's Golf under Jennings' direction, highlighting the program's continued emphasis on excellence both academically and athletically.
