DOTHAN, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Men's Golf team wrapped up the Wallace Fall Classic with its best round of the three-round tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 6, shooting a team score of 9-over-par 297 to finish ninth out of 12 teams at the RTJ Golf Trail at Highland Oaks.

The two-day tournament, held Oct. 5-6 on the par-72 course, saw the opening round delayed several hours due to weather before the Coyotes eventually carded rounds of 315 (+27), 309 (+21) and 297 (+9) for a final team score of 921 (+57).

The Coyotes' final-round performance was highlighted by a pair of new personal-best rounds from sophomore Logan Barnes and newcomer Luke Blanchard.

Barnes fired a team-best 4-under-par 68 during Monday's final round, marking a new personal best and moving him up 19 spots on the individual leaderboard. After opening with rounds of 76 and 81, Barnes finished tied for 26th overall at 9-over 225.

Blanchard also recorded a new personal best with a 1-under-par 71 in the final round. The freshman climbed 10 spots on the final day and led the Coyotes throughout the tournament, finishing tied for 23rd at 8-over 224 after rounds of 79, 74 and 71.

Creed Witworth finished 49th at 20-over 236, carding rounds of 78, 80 and 78, while Brody McCormick tied for 50th at 22-over 238 with rounds of 84, 74 and 80. Jay Whaley rounded out the Coastal Alabama lineup in 58th place at 29-over 245, shooting 82 in each of the first two rounds before closing with an 81.

The Wallace Fall Classic marked the third tournament of the season for the Coyotes, who entered the event following 15th- and 17th-place finishes. The ninth-place showing in Dothan marks Coastal Alabama - North's first top-10 team finish of the season.

The Coyotes will look to carry the momentum from their strong final round into their next tournament as the fall season continues on Oct. 18 at the LBW Fall Invitational in Greenville, Ala.
