Men's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Eight Games, Improves to 12-1 in Conference Play

Coyotes Stay Atop ACCC Division II with Road Win at CVCC

Box Score PHENIX CITY, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball continued its dominant run through ACCC Division II play with a 67-50 road victory over Chattahoochee Valley Community College (Ala.) on Monday night, Feb. 9, stretching its win streak to eight games and maintaining sole possession of first place in the conference standings at 12-1. Additionally, the win improves the Coyotes' overall record on the season to 10 games above .500 at 18-8, while not losing a game since Jan. 5.

The 'Yotes currently sit three games ahead of Snead State (Ala.) and Wallace - Selma (Ala.) in the conference standings, with three conference games remaining during the regular season.

Game Highlights

The Coyotes controlled the contest from the outset, building a seven-point advantage by halftime, 34-27, before clamping down defensively in the second half. Coastal limited Chattahoochee Valley to just 23 points after the break while adding 33 of its own to pull away for the 17-point victory.

Bryce Wilkins and Bryson Holmes led the offensive effort with 16 points apiece. Reigning ACCC D-II Men's Basketball Player of the Week Bryce Wilkins recorded a double-double, finishing with 10 rebounds to go along with his 7-of-11 shooting performance. Holmes added seven rebounds and knocked down two three-pointers while converting 4-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Chimeziri Okeoma provided a spark off the bench with 15 points, including three made three-pointers, helping Coastal - North maintain momentum throughout the night. Justin Burns contributed seven points and five rebounds, while Elijah Pippins filled the stat sheet with 10 assists, five rebounds, four points, and three steals to orchestrate the offense. The Coyotes finished with 16 assists as a team and forced nine steals defensively.

Coastal dominated the glass, grabbing 45 rebounds on the victory, including 23 offensive rebounds that led to key second-chance opportunities. The Coyotes shot 43.6% from the field and converted 72.2% from the free-throw line in the win.

With the victory, Coastal Alabama - North remains in first place in the ACCC Division II standings and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of conference play. The 'Yotes can clinch the ACCC D-II Regular Season Championship for the second consecutive year with their next win in conference play.

Set to Host Spring Hill

Coastal - North hoops will return home on Thursday, Feb. 12 for a non-conference game against Spring Hill College JV (Ala.), scheduled to tip off at 6:00 p.m. CT. Thursday's game is the final non-ACCC contest during the year for the Coyotes.
