CHEROKEE RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB - UNION GROVE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Men's Golf team won the 2025 Chuck Kalanick Memorial for the program's first-ever tournament win on Tuesday, Sept. 23, jumping three spots on the final day and beating out host-school Snead State (Ala.) by one stroke. Additionally, second-year Coyote Jackson Cleveland won the individual portion of the tournament, finishing as the only player under par with a -4.
The Chuck Kalanick Memorial is just the second tournament of the 2025-26 season for the Coyotes, with three rounds being played from Sept. 21-23. The tourney saw a total of 18 teams and 102 student-athletes compete.
The Highlights
Jackson Cleveland opened the tournament leading all players after round one, shooting a 70 (-2) to begin play. In the second round, Cleveland fell from the top spot and finished day two with a 75 (+3) to drop to third overall. On the third and final day, the sophomore Troy, Ala. native put together his best round of the tournament with a 67 (-5), jumpinng back to first to capture the individual championship. Cleveland finished his winning performance with a 212 (-4).

For the rest of the team, Coy Ingram joined Cleveland with a top-15 performance, finshing 13th overall and just nine strokes above par. Ingram scored a 225 across the three rounds and jumped four spots on the final day. Ty Posey then followed, placing 32nd with a 232 (+16), and Gabe Patterson placed 36th with a 233 (+17). Spencer Neeley played as an individual, eventually coming home with a 238 (+22), while Lucas Chalk ended the tournament in 58th with a 240 (+24). As a team, the Coyotes finished 34 strokes above par with an 898, shooting +11 across rounds one and three.
"I'm so proud of this team," said Coastal Alabama - North Head Coach David Jennings who had high praise for this year's squad. "This has been three years in the making. Our guys are grinders and they check all the boxes. Academics, character, kindness, just great people," he said. "We are developing a culture here that we will be able to sustain for a long time."
Jennings also credited Coastal Alabama President Dr. Aaron Milner and Athletic Director Daniel Head. "I am so appreciative of our President, Dr. Milner, and our Athletic Director, Daniel Head. They believe in our campus and our program. Their support to both has been phenomenal. Go Yotes!"
Building Off the Win
With the first win in program history officially in the books, Coastal - North Men's Golf is set for the ACCC Conference Preview next on the schedule. The conference showing is scheduled for Oct. 5-7 and will be played at the Cypress Lakes Golf Club in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
