With the victory, the Coyotes advance to the semifinals, where they will face Bishop State (Ala.) in another elimination matchup at 1:00 p.m. CT on May 1 in downtown Montgomery. Bishop State handed the Coyotes a tournament-opening loss on Wednesday. 

'Yotes Come Alive in Thursday Nightcap 

Coastal - North's run-rule victory was fueled by a six-run explosion in the bottom of the seventh inning on Thursday, bringing the game to an early close and showcasing the Coyotes' offensive potential.

After a tightly contested start which saw Bevill State hold a 1-0 lead after four innings, Coastal broke through in the fifth frame with three runs. The Coyotes then added six runs in the seventh inning to secure the run-rule victory over the Bears.

Tucker Carlos and Landon Jones each recorded two hits in the victory, with both players doubling and scoring twice to help set the tone offensively. Xavier Brown, hitting out of the nine-hole, delivered one of the biggest performances of the game, going 2-for-3 with a double and a team-high three RBIs. Meanwhile, Reni Mason and Peyton Martin also contributed RBIs as part of the offensive attack that produced 10 hits and nine runs.

On the mound, Kameron McCord turned in a complete-game gem, tossing all seven innings while allowing just one earned run on five hits. The left-hander struck out 11 batters and worked around three walks, controlling the game from start to finish to earn the win on the rubber.

Now, the Coyotes turn their attention to a familiar postseason opponent in Bishop State, looking to extend their tournament stay with another elimination game victory on Friday, May 1.
