Box Score 2 ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Baseball secured a split of a four-game ACCC conference series against Central Alabama Community College over the weekend, finishing the weekend with a doubleheader split on the road against the Trojans. With the result, the Coyotes improve to 28-17 overall and 18-10 in conference play, while also surpassing last season's win total of 27 victories.
Yotes Split with CACC
In game one in Alexander City, Coastal - North came up just short in a 4-3 loss. The Coyotes were limited to four hits in the contest, highlighted by Ashton Hardy's solo home run performance. Hardy finished 1-for-1 with a home run, RBI, two walks, and a run scored. Jesse Lord added a double in a 1-for-4 outing, while Tucker Carlos went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Zoyle Gemar also contributed with a hit and a run scored. On the mound, Kameron McCord delivered a solid start, tossing 6.0 innings while allowing four earned runs on 10 hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
The Coyotes bounced back in a big way in the series finale, however, erupting offensively for a 17-10 victory. Coastal totaled 18 hits and drove in 16 runs in the high-scoring affair to secure the series split.
Peyton Martin led the charge from the leadoff spot with a 3-for-5 performance, adding an RBI, three runs scored, and a walk. Jesse Lord continued his strong day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored, while, Reni Mason chipped in with two doubles of his own, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a walk, and a run scored.
Landon Jones delivered a game-high four RBIs, going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and a walk. Tucker Carlos added to the offensive surge with a 2-for-3 effort that included a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored, and Xavier Brown contributed two hits and two RBIs.
With the split, the Coyotes of Coastal - North have not lost an ACCC series since Mar. 5-6, placing the 'Yotes in third place in the current ACCC D-II standings.
Hosting the Wildcats
The Coyotes will look to carry momentum into the next stretch of conference play as they continue their push in the ACCC standings. Coastal is set to host Bishop State Community College (Ala.) next on the schedule, with a doubleheader being set for 12:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, Apr. 16 in Brewton, Ala.Â
