Box Score 4 BREWTON, Ala. - In the first four-game conference series of the 2026 season, the Coastal Alabama - North Baseball team worked a split with ACCC foe Reid State Tech (Ala.) over the weekend, dropping both games as the visiting team in Atmore, Ala. on Feb. 26 before winning both games at home in walk-off fashion on Feb. 28.
The series moves the overall record to 10-9 for the Coyotes, with Coastal - North scheduled for four more ACCC games later this week.
Series Highlights
The four-game set began on Thursday of last week in Atmore, Ala., eventually seeing Reid State win both games against the Coyotes, 6-1 and 11-1. Coastal - North was only able to muster two runs total in Atmore, and saw the nightcap end via the NJCAA run-rule in five innings. However, Coastal - North bounced back in a big way two days later, walking off both games played against the Lions in front of the home faithful.
In game one, the 'Yotes trailed 3-1 entering the final inning of the game. Coastal - North's Xavier Brown opened the bottom of the seventh with a single, followed by a Jesse Lord double to bring the winning run to the plate. Reni Mason then blasted a three-run walk-off home run to win the game 4-2 for the Coyotes, with Mason tallying his first homer of the 2026 season. The win avoided a series loss to the Lions and snapped a small three-game slide.
Mason finished 2-for-4 with the three RBIs in the win, while Xavier Brown and Jesse Lord each collected a pair of hits. Kameron McCord got the start on the mound and completed five innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits, recording eight strikeouts in the process. Jordan Ard earned the win with two innings of work from out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit and no runs. He struck out a pair of Lions.
Later that afternoon, Reid State once again led the Coyotes entering the final frame, this time by four runs. However, momentum from the game one walk-off carried over to the nightcap and the 'Yotes pushed across five runs in the final inning to sweep Reid State in Brewton. Xavier Brown's deep single to right field won the game for the Coyotes, 7-6.
Brown finished game two 4-for-5 at the plate, while Reni Mason went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Ashton Hardy finished 2-for-4 and Jayden Hill's pinch-hit three-run homer in the seventh tied the game, 6-6. On the rubber, Harrison Hicks tossed four scoreless innings of relief, striking out seven and being credited with the win. Bryant Lacour closed out the game with 1.1 innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run.
