Box Score STANLEY JAMES FIELD | BAY MINETTE, Ala. - In the first of two non-divisional meetings during the 2026 season, the Coastal Alabama - North Baseball team managed an extra-inning victory over sibling rival Coastal Alabama - South on Tuesday night, Mar. 10 in Bay Minette, defeating the fellow Coyotes 12-9 in 11 innings.
The game finished at just over four hours long, with the Coyotes from Brewton using a three-run 11th inning to seal the victory. The final game this season between the two Coastal Alabama Baseball programs is scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 31 in Brewton, Ala.
The overall record improves to 12-12 following the win for the Coastal - North Baseball squad.
North Defeats South in Extra-Inning Duel
Both teams set the tone of Tuesday's high-scoring contest with big first innings, as the Coastal - North 'Yotes pushed across six runs to open the game. In the bottom half of the first, Coastal - South responded with four runs of its own. Coastal - North continued to add on, leading 8-4 after four innings, but Coastal - South continued to chip away at the lead. Eventually, Coastal - South pushed across two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game, 9-9. Both teams went scoreless in the ninth, setting up extra innings.
In extras, a scoreless 10th led to an 11th frame which saw Coastal - North score three runs to grab the late lead. Zoyle Gemar's two-run double put the 'Yotes from Brewton ahead, while Ashton Hardy added on with an RBI single. In the bottom of the 11th, Harrison Hicks produced a scoreless frame to seal the big road win for Coastal - North, with Hicks earning the victory on the rubber with 5 1/3 innings of work from out of the bullpen.
Hicks allowed two runs off three hits in his long outing from the 'pen, striking out three in the process. Sam Guth and Andrew Benson also saw time out of the bullpen, with both pitchers working scoreless third and fourth innings.
Offensively, Zoyle Gemar finished 3-for-6 with three RBIs, while Tucker Carlos drove in three with a three-run blast in the very first inning. Both Jesse Lord and Ashton Hardy went 2-for-6 at this dish, and Xavier Brown finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Sam Guth also picked up a hit in the win, driving in a pair.
As a team, Coastal - North out-hit Coastal - South, 15-10.
Back to Division II Action
With a big win pocketed for Coastal - North Baseball on Tuesday night, the Coyotes are set to return to ACCC Division II action on Friday afternoon, Mar. 13 in Brewton, hosting Wallace - Selma (Ala.) for a 12:00 p.m. CT doubleheader. Friday's doubleheader begins a four-game home-and-home series with the Patriots on the weekend.
