BREWTON, Ala. - Coastal Alabama North Baseball managed a doubleheader split at home over the weekend, hosting Wallace State - Selma (Ala.) in Brewton, Ala. for a pair of seven-inning games on Saturday, March 22. The Coyotes took game one 7-3 for the first regular season win of the season against the Patriots, but fell in the nightcap, 12-6.
Following Saturday's action, the Coyotes see the 2025 overall record move to 14-19 on the year, with the conference record moving to 8-12.
Doubleheader Recap
Coastal North managed to out-hit Wallace - Selma 8-5 in game one, relying on a big back half of the game to come away victorious. The Coyotes hit the scoreboard first with two runs in the second inning, but saw the lead change in the top of the fifth when the Patriots pushed across three runs. However, Coastal North immediately responded during the bottom half of the fifth inning where the Coyotes scored three runs to take a 5-3 lead. One inning later, Coastal North managed two insurance runs to put the game out of reach.
Both Ethan McAnally and Elijah Guilliams recorded two RBIs a piece in the game one win, with McAnally finishing 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and Guilliams putting together a 1-for-4 line with a run crossing home plate. Guilliams lone hit was a solo homer. Meanwhile, Pace Young and Will Smith joined the two with RBIs in the win. On the mound, Wyatt Tharpe was sharp with a complete game performance from the rubber, allowing only three runs and striking out seven batters.Â
In game two, Wallace - Selma bounced back and exploded for 12 runs off 10 hits, holding Coastal North to just six hits and six runs in the process. Errors came back to haunt the Coastal North as the Coyotes committed five costly errors in the losing effort. Wallace - Selma opened the game with five runs in the first, adding an additional run in the second. The Patriots used a big six-run fifth inning to seal the win.
Broox Hart paced the offense with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-4, while Ethan McAnally, Rustin Pope, Tucker Carlos, and Will Smith all managed one RBI each. Coastal North saw six pitchers take the mound in the game two defeat, combining for only four strikeouts and five walks.Â

The Coyotes are set to host an ACCC doubleheader on Thursday, March 27 for the next games on the schedule, coming against Enterprise State (Ala.) at 12:00 p.m. CT. Thursday's games will be played in Brewton, Ala.
