BREWTON, Ala. – Coastal Alabama - North Women's Volleyball managed revenge over the Coastal Alabama - South Coyotes on Wednesday night, Oct. 8, delivering a strong performance at home and earning a 3-1 victory (25-18, 20-25, 25-16, 25-13) to split the regular season series. The Coastal - North Coyotes fell to Coastal - South in five sets earlier in the year, with that match being played on the road in Bay Minette. However, the Yotes defended their home floor in front of an energetic crowd in Brewton, Ala. on Wednesday to improve to 13-6 overall on the season. Additionally, the ACCC record advances to 7-3, with Coastal - North currently sitting in third place of the ACCC Women's Volleyball South Division standings.

How It Happened
Coastal - North came out strong against the fellow Coyotes on Wednesday evening, rolling to a 25-18 set one win to set the tone of the match. However, Coastal - South responded nicely and cruised across set two, 25-20. In the third set, Coastal - North Head Coach Steven Dickey managed to refocus his team as the North Yotes put together a 25-16 set three win, building confidence in the process. Finally, Coastal - North put the match away in convincing fashion in set four, clinching the match 25-13 after opening the set on an 18-4 run. The win keeps Coastal - North perfect at home at 7-0, with 10 more home matches scheduled in Brewton throughout the month of October.
As a team, Coastal - North put together a solid performance offensively, hitting a steady .286 as a unit with 43 kills and just nine errors across the four sets. Lexie Drace led the way with 15 kills on a .314 hitting percentage, while also contributing four aces and nine digs in the win. Ella Sprouse followed with nine kills and hit .360, finishing just one kill shy of a double-double after pacing the team with 11 digs. Setter Hannah Vinas directed the offense with precision, recording 39 assists while adding two kills of her own. Vinas currently sits fourth in the conference with 8.57 assists per set on the year.
Savannah Creamer chipped in six kills, while three additional players (Faith Reid, Ali Simon, Daylin Williamson) all managed three kills each in the win. Behind the service line, Morgan Dykes was electric by posting a career-best 11 aces to help the Coyotes maintain pressure throughout. Defensively, the team tallied 47 digs, with steady back-row contributions from Sprouse, Dykes, Drace, and Vinas.

Coastal - North has a quick turnaround as the Coyotes are set to return to the court one day later on Thursday evening, Oct. 9. The Coyotes are scheduled to host Wallace - Selma in a favorable matchup in Brewton. Thursday's match is set to start at 5:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted live on JockJive.com.
