PENSACOLA, Fla. - Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball traveled to Pensacola, Fla. and competed in a non-divisional tri-match on Tuesday, Sept. 29, facing off with host-team Pensacola Christian College (Fla.) and United States Sports University (Ala.). The day opened with the Coyotes being swept by Pensacola Christian 3-0 before sweeping USSU 3-0 in the neutral-site matchup.
The overall record moves to 6-12 on the year, with the 12 losses surpassing the 2025 season record (21-11).
Tuesday Highlight
Bouncing back after a straight-set defeat to the PCC Eagles (25-15, 25-19, 25-21), the Coyotes claimed the nightcap win by set scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 26-24 over the USSU Eagles and defeating USSU for the second time during the 2026 campaign.
Coastal - North established control early, taking the opening set 25-20 before earning a 25-22 victory in the second. USSU pushed the 'Yotes in the third set, but Coastal held on in a back-and-forth battle to finish the sweep with a 26-24 win.
The Coyotes held statistical advantages across several key categories, finishing with 36 kills compared to 31 for USSU and recording a .115 team attack percentage compared to .068 for the opposition.
Coastal - North also produced 34 assists to USSU's 27 and held an 8-5 advantage in service aces.
Freshman Arianna Wright and sophomore Daelyn Bozeman led the Coastal attack with nine kills apiece. Wright hit .200 for the match, while Bozeman posted a team-best .292 attack percentage after recording nine kills with just two errors on 24 attempts. Avrie Hines added seven kills, eight digs and one service ace, while Faith Reid contributed five kills, nine digs and two aces in the victory.
At the net, Ali Simon recorded three kills and three block assists. Meanwhile, Libby Williams directed the Coastal - North offense with 28 assists while adding 11 digs and three block assists. Libero Shaylee Frederick anchored the defensive backline with a team-high 14 digs while also recording two service aces.
Coastal - North finished the match with 56 digs and four total blocks.
Back Home Thursday
The Coyotes will continue their 2026 season with a home match next on the schedule, coming on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 1 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Coastal - North will matchup against Northwest Shoals Community College (Ala.), a member of the ACCC North Division.
