Coastal - North Falls in Four Sets to Enterprise State

Coyotes Battle Through First Homestand of 2026 Season

Box Score

BREWTON, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Volleyball team battled through adversity Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 2, playing without two key starters due to injury, but ultimately fell to Enterprise State Community College (Ala.) in four sets, 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 21-25.

The loss closed out the Coyotes' first homestand of the 2026 season at 1-4 and extended their current skid to three consecutive matches. Coastal - North drops to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in ACCC play.

Strong Start Not Enough for 'Yotes

The Coyotes entered Wednesday's match without starting middle blocker Ali Simon and starting setter Libby Williams, forcing head coach Steven Dickey and Coastal - North to adjust its lineup against a talented Enterprise State squad that rallied after dropping the opening set.

Despite the injuries, the 'Yotes opened the night with a strong showing in the first set, edging the Boll Weevils, 25-23. Enterprise State answered in the second, however, taking a 25-19 decision to even the match. The visitors then carried that momentum into the third set, winning 25-20, before closing out the match with a 25-21 fourth-set victory.

The Coyotes kept things close throughout the match, but were unable to build on the set one victory to open the match.

Freshman Arianna Wright led Coastal - North offensively with 11 kills on 19 attacks, hitting .421 for the match. She also added two solo blocks and two block assists from the front row. Avrie Hines followed with nine kills and three service aces, while Faith Reid contributed eight kills and four total blocks. Daelyn Bozeman also recorded eight kills in the loss.

Meanwhile, freshman Savannah Phillips stepped into an expanded role as starting setter on Wednesday and finished with 34 assists, two service aces and eight digs. Libero Shaylee Frederick added a service ace and six digs, while McKenna Dunlavy paced the Coyotes defensively with nine digs.

Despite the setback, Coastal Alabama - North showed resilience while navigating the loss of two impact players and continues its early-season schedule with conference play ahead.

Conference Play Continues Thursday

The Coyotes return to action Thursday, Sept. 3, traveling to Selma, Ala., for an ACCC matchup against Wallace Community College - Selma (Ala.). First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT.
