GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Softball team faced a challenging weekend at the 2026 Coyote Classic, dropping all four contests Feb. 13-14 in Gulf Shores. The Coyotes now stand at 1-10 overall on the season.

Coastal - North opened the tournament against East Central Community College (Miss.), falling 11-3 in five innings. The Warriors capitalized on timely hitting to pull away early, limiting the Coyotes' offensive opportunities in the run-rule decision. In the second matchup on Friday, Coastal - North squared off with Hinds Community College (Miss.), dropping an 11-1 decision. Hinds built an early advantage and maintained control throughout, eventually putting the game away in the seventh. The Coyotes continued to search for offensive rhythm after pushing across just one run.
Day two of the classic saw the 'Yotes take on No. 2 Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Miss.) to begin action. The Wolves claimed an 8-0 victory in five innings, using a strong pitching performance to keep the Coyotes off the scoreboard. The weekend concluded with a matchup against Holmes Community College (Miss.), where Coastal - North fell 10-0 in five innings. Holmes plated multiple runs in the early frames and never relinquished momentum in the run-rule contest.
Despite the tough results, the Coyotes continue to gain valuable experience early in the non-conference portion of the season against strong Mississippi competition. Coastal - North will look to regroup and bounce back in its upcoming schedule as conference play approaches.
Headed to the 'Sip
The Coyotes have a scheduled rematch against East Central next on the schedule, with the doubleheader coming on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Tuesday's games will be played in Decatur, Miss.
