EVERGREEN, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball continued its impressive conference run, sweeping regular-season rival Reid State (Ala.) with an 87-76 victory and improving to a conference-best 9-1 in the ACCC. The win for the Coyotes is the fifth straight as the overall record improves to 15-8 on the season.
Team Effort in Road Dub
The Coyotes delivered a balanced team effort on both ends of the floor, shooting 42.6 percent (26-of-61) from the field and knocking down 30 of 40 free throws (75 percent) to seal the road win in Evergreen. Coastal - North also dominated the glass, outrebounding the Lions 44-27 and piling up 13 offensive boards to create second-chance opportunities.
Bryce Wilkins led the way with a dominant performance inside, finishing with 21 points on 6-of-7 shooting while going 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. The forward also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to record his sixth double-double of the year. He currently sits second in the ACCC by averaging nine rebounds per contest.
Bryson Holmes followed and added 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including a three-pointer, while pulling down eight rebounds and swatting four shots to anchor the defensive effort. At the point, Elijah Pippins orchestrated the offense with 12 assists, adding 12 points for a double-double of his own and three steals in a strong all-around performance.
Other contributors included Rashad Mitchell, who chipped in 10 points, knocking down both of his three-point attempts, and Chimeziri Okeoma, who provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and four rebounds. In addition, Justin Burns contributed six points, four rebounds, and three blocks, while Al'Terrius Beasley added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
As a team, Coastal Alabama - North recorded 18 assists, nine blocked shots, and five steals, showcasing the defensive intensity that has fueled its conference success. The Coyotes' ability to respond to every Reid State run ensured the season sweep and further solidified their position atop the ACCC standings.
With nine wins in their first 10 conference contests, Coastal Alabama - North heads into the final stretch of league play in control of its postseason destiny.

The 'Yotes look for their 10th ACCC win of the season next time out, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, Jan. 31 at 4:00 p.m. CT against Bevill State (Ala.). Saturday's game will be played in Jasper, Ala.
