Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – Coastal Alabama - North Women's Volleyball continued its red-hot form on Monday evening, Sept. 15, grinding out a tough five-set road victory over Bishop State (Ala.) to push its winning streak to seven consecutive matches. The Coyotes, now 7-3 overall on the season and 4-1 in the ACCC, rallied after dropping the opening set, eventually outlasting the Wildcats 21-25, 25-21, 25-10, 19-25, 19-17 in enemy territory. The conference win places Coastal - North in sole possession of second place in the current ACCC Volleyball South Division standings.
Match Highlights
Outside hitter Ella Sprouse powered the offense with a team-high 17 kills on Monday, while also adding three service aces and a block assist to her performance against Bishop State. Lexie Drace provided steady scoring with 11 kills and three aces, while Ali Simon was a force at the net, hitting an efficient .583 with eight kills and a team-high six block assists. On the night, Coastal - North managed a .161 hitting percentage, finishing with 143 total attacks.
Setter Hannah Vinas directed the attack with 42 assists and chipped in nine digs, while Faith Reid was sharp from the service line with six aces to go along with five kills and four block assists. Defensively, Drace and Sprouse continued to guide the Coyotes, with Drace notching a team-high 10 digs and Sprouse finishing the match with nine. The Yotes held firm when it mattered most, with 48 total digs, 14 aces, and 14 team block assists to slow Bishop State's attack.
After splitting the first four sets, Coastal - North showed resilience in the decisive fifth, fending off multiple match points before closing out the Wildcats 19-17 to secure the road win. The victory not only extends the Coyotes' win streak to seven but also keeps them unbeaten in September play.
Coastal Versus Coastal
Coastal Alabama - North will look to keep the momentum rolling when the team travels south to Bay Minette, Ala. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 where the Coyotes battle their fellow Coyotes of Coastal Alabama - South.
