WADLEY, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball fell on the road Monday night, Dec. 8, dropping an 83-73 decision to Southern Union State Community College (Ala.) in a non-conference matchup, seeing a modest three-game winning streak end at the hands of the Bison. The Coyotes remain unbeaten in the ACCC D-II standings at 3-0, but the overall record moves back to 7-6 on the year.

Southern Union built a 42-34 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half behind an efficient shooting performance, finishing 54.4 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from three. Coastal - North battled to stay within reach, but the Bison's balanced scoring and ball movement—highlighted by 28 assists—proved decisive.
Eli Pippins led Coastal - North with a double-double, scoring 16 points and adding 10 assists and five steals to turn in one of his strongest all-around performances of the season. Chimeziri Okeoma matched him with 16 points of his own, adding five steals and shooting 6-of-12 from the floor. Justin Burns provided an interior presence with eight points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, while Ja'Michael Murray added a season-high eight points off the bench.
Coastal - North finished 27-of-70 from the field and controlled the glass with a 45-32 rebounding advantage, including 16 offensive boards. However, 18 turnovers proved costly, leading to transition opportunities for the Southern Union Bison. Southern Union countered with four players scoring in double figures, led by Khalon Johnson and Don Tinsley with 19 points each.
The Coyotes will look to regroup as they return to conference action later this week.
ACCC Doubleheader Ahead
Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball will return to action at home later this week, with the Coyotes hosting an ACCC D-II doubleheader against Enterprise State (Ala.) on Friday night, Dec. 12 in Monroeville. The women's basketball game will kick off the night with a 5:00 p.m. CT tip, followed by men's basketball at 7:00 p.m. CT. Both games will be aired live on JockJive.com.
