CUTHBERT, Ga. - Coastal Alabama - North Women's Basketball dropped its Saturday road matchup at Andrew College, falling 95-64 in a non-conference contest on Nov. 22. The Coyotes battled throughout but were unable to slow an efficient Fighting Tigers offense that shot 46.5 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from three-point range.
The overall record falls to 3-4 on the year ahead of conference play in the ACCC.
How It Happened
Andrew College opened with a 22-point first quarter and carried a 46-30 lead into halftime before extending the margin in the third. Coastal - North produced balanced scoring across several stretches but could not overcome Andrew's 10 made threes and over 20 points scored in each of the four quarters during the afternoon matchup.
Lailah Hill led the Coyotes with 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Starr Pittman ended the game with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from off the bench, adding three rebounds and a steal, and Joy Minnifield added 12 points, three steals, and two assists, knocking down a pair of threes. Coastal - North finishing the loss with just a 33.8% shooting line as a team, while going 13-for-26 from the foul line.
Conference Opener Ahead
The Coyotes move forward from non-conference play and are set for the first ACCC D-II matchup of the season next on the schedule. The Yotes will travel to Selma, Ala. for the conference opener, scheduled to face Wallace - Selma (Ala.) at 5:00 p.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 24.
