BREWTON, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Women's Volleyball team closed out the 2025 regular season with a home split this week, powering past Baptist University of Florida in four sets on Tuesday, Oct. 28 before falling to John Melvin Christian College (Fla.) in four sets on Wednesday evening, Oct. 29. The Coyotes finish the regular season with a 20-9 overall record and now turn their sights on the upcoming 2025 ACCC Volleyball Championship Tournament scheduled for Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 in Montgomery, Ala.
Coastal Ala. - North 3, Baptist University of Florida 1
(25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22)
Coastal - North came out sharp on both sides of the net on Tuesday, hitting an efficient .353 as a team while holding Baptist University of Florida under a .100 hitting line. Ella Sprouse led the charge with 16 kills on 34 swings (.441), adding two service aces and eight digs. Lexie Drace followed with 11 kills, a .360 hitting percentage, and one ace, while Faith Reid turned in one of her most efficient outings of the year with nine kills on a .533 hitting clip.
Hannah Vinas and Joleigh Parmer combined to run the offense, tallying 27 and 11 assists, respectively. Vinas also added four digs and two block assists, while Parmer notched seven digs. Defensively, Abbie Mathews contributed seven digs and two block assists, and Shaylee Frederick chipped in six assists and five digs. Up front, the Coyotes totaled 12 block assists as a team, highlighted by three from Savannah Creamer and two each from Mathews, Drace, and Reid. Other contributors included Lydia Miller, who added two kills, a service ace, and four digs, while Ali Simon finished with two kills and a block assist.
The Coyotes took the opening two sets convincingly before regrouping after a narrow third-set loss to close the match strong, 25-22, in the fourth.
John Melvin Christian College 3, Coastal Ala. - North 1
(25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-11)
In the regular season finale on Wednesday night, Coastal - North showed fight throughout but could not sustain momentum late against John Melvin Christian. Ella Sprouse once again led the offense with 15 kills on 29 attempts (.414), adding two service aces. Lexie Drace followed with nine kills, 12 digs, and two block assists, while Faith Reid produced seven kills, five digs, and two block assists.
Hannah Vinas anchored the offense with 33 assists, while also collecting seven digs and two aces, while Joleigh Parmer added 10 assists, three kills, and two digs. Abbie Mathews provided solid back-row support with 10 digs, while Shaylee Frederick served three aces and added three digs.
At the net, Savannah Creamer and Ali Simon combined for four kills and four block assists, while Daylin Williamson and Lydia Miller each added four and three kills, respectively. The Coyotes finished with 50 kills as a team on a .239 hitting percentage and matched John Melvin point-for-point through three sets before the visitors pulled away in the fourth. The two teams split the regular season series after Coastal - North defeated the Mohawks in four sets back in early September.
Postseason Begins Friday
The 2025 ACCC Volleyball Championship Tournament will kick off Friday, Oct. 31 with pool play as Coastal Alabama - North closes the regular season as the No. 3 seed in the ACCC South Division standings. The Coyotes will face Snead State (Ala.) and ACCC South Division champs Enterprise State (Ala.) to begin postseason action, while wrapping up pool play against Gadsden State (Ala.) on Saturday. This year's conference tournament will be played at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in downtown Montgomery, Ala.
