Coastal Alabama - North Head Men's Basketball Coach Chuck Taylor brings over 10 years of head coaching experience and a robust background in NCAA Division I Men's Basketball to Coastal Alabama Community College. Currently in his fifth season at the helm of the Coastal Alabama - North Campus Men's Basketball program based out of Monroeville, Ala., Coach Taylor has established a reputation for excellence both on and off the court as he approaches 100 career wins.

Coach Taylor took over the Coastal Alabama - North program in September 2021 and has since made a significant impact. Under his guidance, the Coyotes achieved a record of 63-58 over the first four seasons, including claiming the ACCC D-II Men's Basketball Regular Season Championship during the 2024-25 campaign and leading the team to the South Division Championship in the ACCC during the 2022-23 season. For his outstanding leadership, Coach Taylor has been awarded ACCC D-II Men's Basketball Coach of the Year honors in 2022-23 and 2024-25. 

Prior to Coastal Alabama, Coach Taylor contributed to the success of several prominent programs:
  • Sam Houston State (Tex.): Helped lead the team to a regular-season title championship and a berth in the NIT Tournament in 2019.
  • North Carolina Central University: Lead recruiter. Led nationwide recruiting strategy and activities, including talent evaluation of monthly recruiting schedules, communication with recruits, management of all recruiting travel, campus and in home visits. Help secure the top recruiting class.
  • Paris Junior College (Tex.): Led the team to a pair of regular-season championships (2011-12 & 2013-14) and a trip to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. Record at Paris Junior College was an impressive 103-52, and earned Coach of the Year honors in both 2011-12 and 2013-14.
  • Richland College (Tex.): Directed the squad to the No. 3 NJCAA Division III National Ranking and a Regular Season Championship, finishing with a stellar 26-8 record.
  • University of South Alabama: Worked under Ronnie Arrow, helping lead the Jaguars to the 2007-08 Regular Season title and a berth in the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.
  • University of North Texas: Played a key role in leading the team to the Tournament Title and a NCAA tournament appearance in 2006-07.

Coach Taylor believes in a holistic approach to coaching, emphasizing skill development, tactical prowess, character building, and academic success. He instills in his players the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, preparing them not just for games but for life beyond basketball.
