MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - North Cross Country teams competed in the Montevallo Falcon Classic over last weekend, marking the second meet of the 2026 campaign for the Coyotes.

The Coastal - North Men's team placed eighth out of 12 teams, recording a combined time of 2:29:41 in the 8K race, while seeing the previous course record time broken by a first-year Coyote.

Freshman Remi Kepran led the Coyotes, finishing 21st overall with a time of 27:45, besting the previous course record in Montevallo.

Tyler Harris followed Kepran in 46th at 29:22, while Riley Valdez crossed the finish line 47th at 29:26. Darwin Vasques and Aidan Pierce rounded out the scoring for Coastal - North, with Vasques finishing 71st with a time of 30:56 and Pierce placing 80th at 32:11.

On the women's side, Coastal - North did not record a team score, but the Coyotes turned in several notable individual performances.

Hannah Galloway led the way by establishing a new Coastal Alabama - North Women's Cross Country program record in the 5K, crossing the finish line at 19:53. The performance also marked a personal best for Galloway.

Roxanna Mendoza and Elizabeth Reynoso also recorded personal-best performances. Second-year 'Yote Mendoza finished at 21:42, while freshman Reynoso posted a time of 22:27.

Back in Action in Mobile

The Coyotes will return to action at the next scheduled meet on the schedule on Friday, Sept. 25 as Coastal - North competes in the annual Azalea City Invite in Mobile, Ala.

The women's meet will begin at approximately 5:55 p.m. CT, while the men compete at 6:20 p.m. CT.
