MARION, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - North Men's Basketball turned in a dominant road performance Monday night, Jan 19, defeating Marion Military Institute (Ala.) 95-80 behind a strong offensive attack and three double-doubles. The win for the Coyotes is the third consecutive, improving the overall record to 13-8 and a conference-best 7-1 this season.
Hot Shooting Lifts 'Yotes
The Coyotes opened Monday's game with a 48-point first half, later adding 47 points in the second, all while holding Marion Military under 43 points in both halves. The 'Yotes shot an efficient 57.8% from the field and controlled the glass with a commanding 59-19 rebounding advantage, setting the tone early and never looking back against the Tigers.
Bryce Wilkins led all scorers with 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting while pulling down 12 rebounds to record his second consecutive double-double since returning from a minor injury that forced him to miss three games. Bryson Holmes added another double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, anchoring Coastal - North on both ends of the floor. Meanwhile, Justin Burns made it three Coyotes with double-doubles, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds while also contributing a block defensively.
The Coyotes' backcourt helped keep the offense flowing, as Elijah Pippins dished out nine assists to go along with eight points and three steals. Off the bench, Chimeziri Okeoma provided a spark with 15 points, while Al'Terrius Beasley chipped in seven points and six rebounds.
Coastal - North's depth and unselfish play were evident, as the Coyotes tallied 27 assists and consistently generated second-chance opportunities with 23 offensive rebounds.
With the win, the Coyotes continue to build momentum in conference play and showcase their ability to perform at a high level away from home.

Riding a modest three-game win streak, the 'Yotes return to the court on Thursday evening, Jan. 22 for a conference game against Wallace - Selma (Ala.) at 7:00 p.m. CT. Thursday's game is the second and final meeting of the regular season with the Patriots as Coastal - North looks for the season sweep. The matchup will be broadcasted live on JockJive.com.
