Kandas Coates joined the coaching staff at Coastal Alabama - North ahead of the 2024-25 season after a coaching stint at John L. Leflore Magnet School in Mobile, Ala. where she led the junior varsity squad and assisted with varsity for the Rattlers girl's basketball teams.
Coates was a standout player in her own right. As an alumni of Coastal Alabama, she began her career in Monroeville at the a forenamed Alabama Southern Community College. From there, she finished her career at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where she ranked 45th in Division II in Offensive Rebounds per Game.
Coates is a native of Mobile, Ala. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Photography in 2008 and her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the University of West Florida in 2015.
Aside from her coaching role, she is the owner of Koach's Corner Fitness. She takes pride in serving the media team at her church as well as helping with the special needs community.
